From a single minute of work to a whole year — this is what your salary is actually worth at each step.

Bars use a compressed (log) scale — a year is worth thousands of minutes, so a normal scale would make the small bars invisible.

How the salary maths works

There is no trick to it — a monthly salary is just a bundle of working days and hours. This calculator unbundles it, step by step, so you can see what a single day, hour or minute of your work is worth.

1Count your working time

Working days per month × hours per day gives your paid hours. The default — 26 days × 8 hours = 208 hours — is a typical full-time month in Bangladesh; change it to match your job.

2Add your extras

Overtime is valued at 1.5× your base hourly rate (your base salary ÷ your paid hours), and any monthly bonus is added on top, giving your true total monthly pay.

3Divide it down

Total monthly pay ÷ working days = your daily rate, ÷ hours = your hourly rate, ÷ 60 = what you earn every minute. Yearly is monthly × 12, and weekly is yearly ÷ 52.

Good to know: all figures are gross — before income tax, provident fund or any other deduction — and they assume the same pay every month. Festival bonuses, unpaid leave or a mid-year raise will change your real numbers; adjust the bonus and days fields to match your situation.

Common questions

How is my daily salary calculated?

Your total monthly pay (base salary + monthly bonus + overtime pay) is divided by your working days per month. For example, ৳50,000 a month over 26 working days is 50,000 ÷ 26 = about ৳1,923 per day.

Why is 26 working days the default?

Most full-time jobs in Bangladesh work 6 days a week with Fridays off, which works out to roughly 26 working days in a month. If you work 5 days a week, use about 22 days instead — just change the number and every result updates.

How is overtime worked out?

First your base hourly rate is found (base salary ÷ paid hours per month). Overtime hours are then paid at 1.5× that rate, a common standard. Your own employer's policy may use a different multiplier — if so, treat the overtime figure as an estimate.

Is this my salary before or after tax?

Before. Everything here is gross pay — income tax, provident fund, insurance or loan deductions are not subtracted, because they are different for every person and employer.

How do you get the weekly figure?

Your yearly pay (monthly × 12) is divided by 52 weeks. That averages out long and short months, so the weekly number is a fair "typical week" rather than one specific week in one specific month.

Is my salary information private?

Yes. Everything is calculated on this page in your browser. Your salary is never sent to a server, saved, or shared — unless you tap a share button yourself.
